Jig saws are mainly used for cutting slots and curves but can also be used for straight cutting. Care must be taken to select the correct blade and speed setting, e.g. fast for wood, slow for metal!
The saw is directional and can be set to north south east and west positions, or unfixed 360deg direction.
Cutting can start at one edge of the material or, if cutting slots or holes, the saw blade can be inserted through a pre-drilled hole.
